Getting Started

 Learn how to choose the right brushes, colors and materials without wasting money. You will also discover a simple technique to create an accurate drawing before painting — even if you don't know how to draw — and practical tips to progress efficiently even with limited time.

Understanding the Face : Painting Each Feature Step by Step

You will study skin structure and color while painting the eye (in black and white and in color), the nose, the mouth and skin textures.

You will also paint an aged eye and a simplified portrait divided into color zones to better understand facial transitions and volume before moving on to complete portraits.

Painting the Head of David

This first demonstration is ideal to begin with portrait painting.
Working in black and white allows you to focus on light, shadow and the structure of the face without the complexity of color. The sculpture also contains simpler textures and fewer details, making it a perfect introduction before moving on to full color portraits.

Painting a Child Portrait

This portrait introduces you to the challenges of painting young skin with soft transitions and subtle color variations.
You will learn how to capture delicate features and natural light while creating convincing and lively skin tones.

Painting a Woman in Profile

This demonstration allows you to study all facial features from the side while understanding the structure of the face in profile.

In this lesson you will paint a male portrait while working on all facial features seen from the front.

This portrait allows you to explore rich darker skin tones and strong light contrasts.
